Sermon: Remain Faithful (Genesis 36)

What are you building your life for—temporary success or God’s eternal kingdom? In this sermon from Genesis 36, we dive into the story of Esau, a man who traded God’s promises for earthly greatness. From marrying into pagan Canaanite cultures to leaving the Promised Land for Seir, Esau chased wealth and status, only to leave a legacy that faded away. Esau is a warning to all of us—will we remain faithful to our own cause or the cause of Christ?

Thankfully, there’s a better way. God calls us to a faithfulness that echoes beyond this life. Even when the path is tough—when we’re tempted to trade our birthright for a fleeting bowl of stew—Christ offers us a purpose worth pursuing. This sermon reminds us that true greatness isn’t measured by what we accumulate, but by who we belong to and what we live for.
