Close, but Not Close Enough

Close, but Not Close Enough is from our Gospel of Mark series. Mark 12:28-34.

When Jesus answered the question of a scribe, the scribe seemed impressed and affirmed Jesus’ reply. So, why would Jesus describe him as still being “not far from the kingdom of God”? The religious scribe recognized Jesus as a teacher, but could not see him as savior. As this man shows us, religious knowledge won’t get us to heaven. We enter only because Jesus has made it possible.
